  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendation to a manufacturer that resulted in the design of a management initiative to expand private sales by $25 million.

  • Designed and implemented a broker sales development program that incrementally increased a food processor's annual sales by 20%.

  • Provided consultative services to a consortium of foreign manufacturers of an upscale line of frozen entrée products. HLG implemented the model for entering the U.S. market and spearheaded the successful test market launch which eventually supported a national rollout.

Worked in conjunction with this firm to provide Food Industry consultation and channel specific plans in support of developing a strategic growth plan for a specialty bakery goods company

Ottawa, ONT
Canadian manufacturer of frozen entrees, pastries and hors d oeuvres sold in Canada and the US under both a proprietary brand and store brand labels.

Furnished consultative services that assisted in the implementation of a model used to launch the test market of a proprietary brand in the U.S. Spearheaded the launch with the first U.S. based customer. This plan supported a successful rollout nationally.

Ottawa, ONT
A consortium of Canadian frozen food manufacturers that distribute a line of controlled brand premium frozen entrée products to the US market.

Designed a customer specific frozen dinner program for a major marketing and procurement cooperative that generated incremental new business for the client.

Atlanta, GA
(Sold to Keebler Co, now owned by the Kellogg Company). Well-known regional manufacturer of branded and private label cookie and cracker lines.

Prepared a business plan that set forth the company's implementation and execution of a growth strategy to significantly expand its presence as a provider of store brand portfolios to major supermarket customers.

Northern Michigan
Canned vegetable and fruit packer of private label retail grocery product lines sold primarily to supermarket chains.

Conducted a market environment analysis to determine the feasibility of entering two new product categories; recommended manufacturing, financial and staffing capabilities required for successful entry into the respective categories.

Southeastern Michigan
Producer of gourmet mustards and other specialty condiments. Sells to supermarkets, specialty food distributors and gourmet retail store outlets.

Provided new product and market development fact finding, analysis and recommendation. Developed customer specific merchandising programs for several upscale specialty retail grocery chains.

West Coast producer and processor of frozen strawberries and fruit commodities. Sells to supermarket chains, wholesalers and distributors.

Strengthened the company's market presence through the design and implementation of business expansion programs. Identified a strategic marketing opportunity that effectively utilized the firms sourcing and distribution capabilities.

Central New Jersey
State University-operated food manufacturing pilot test facility that serves venture capital supported package food firms with technology training.

Developed a model for evaluating marketing opportunities for packaged food products. This model can be used by venture capital supported firms - and off-shore companies supported by AID funding - who utilize CAFT'S services and technology training.

Detroit, MI
Boutique gourmet chocolate confectionery manufacturer of retail, gift and specialty product lines sold to retailers, businesses and through mail order.

Furnished organizational restructuring analysis and recommendation; provided product line analysis and customer relationship building services; prepared strategic needs (resources) evaluation and proposals.

Producer of gourmet mustard and other condiment lines sold to regional supermarket chains and foodservice distributors.

Provided long-term interim marketing and sales management support with assignments in the areas of market expansion, sales development and customer relationship building.

Developed a positioning strategy for a new product: designed the marketing plan in support of the product launch.

A major regional producer of consumer brand honey products sold to supermarkets, club stores and supercenters.

Developed and implemented a marketing plan that supported incremental market share growth through new and existing customers. Created a broker advisory committee. Designed a sales development program that resulted in a 20% increase in annual volume.

Western Michigan
A major regional dairy operator and distributor of diverse dairy related products and frozen novelty lines.

Conducted consumer market research; developed a marketing assessment of opportunities for strengthening the cross channel distribution of diverse branded and private label product lines.

Agricultural products trading company that specializes in the buying and selling of fruit commodities.
